Bulgaria Producer Prices Rise 3% in Jan y/y

Bulgaria's index of total producer prices rose 3% in January 2010 in comparison with the same month last year, after plunging 5,53% during the first months of the crisis, data showed on Friday.

The inflation on a monthly basis stood at 1,8%, the statistics office said in a statement.

Bulgarian producer prices on the domestic market increased 1,2% on a monthly basis in January, after edging up 0,9 percent a month earlier. Producer prices went up 1,8 % on an annual basis.

Prices in the metallurgy industry increased by 17,6 % in January on an annual basis, in the tobacco industry – by 17,3%, while prices in the production of drinks went up by 6,5%.
