Bulgaria Producer Prices Rise 2,5% in Feb Y/Y

Bulgarian producer prices on the domestic market rose 2,5% in February on annual basis, National Statistical Institute data showed on Tuesday.

While price reductions of 7,3% were reported in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas, the extractive industries have experienced the largest index growth of 5,7%.

Price increases in manufacturing on annual basis were reported by the statistics office. Prices in the manufacture of tobacco products rose by 23,3%, the increase in the production of basic metals was by 16,2%, and the production of vehicles, (except for car production) experienced a price growth of 6,1%.

Price decreases of 9,1% occurred in the manufacture of wood and cork, (except for furniture). The manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products registered a decrease of 5,0%, and the production of metal products, (except for machinery and equipment) - of 4,7%.

Bulgarian producer prices on the domestic market fell 0,7% from the previous month. Prices in the extractive industries went down by 0,5%, in manufacturing - by 0,1% and in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas - by 0,2%.

A significant price reduction in manufacturing from the previous month was registered in: the production of basic metals - by 3,7%; the manufacture of fabricated metal products, (except for machinery and equipment) - by 1,7 %; and the manufacture of machinery and equipment, (both general and special purpose) - by 1,7 %.

Prices in the manufacture of drug substances and products increased by 1.1% from the previous month. Likewise, prices in the manufacture of chemical products and the manufacture of electrical equipment rose by 0,7%.
