Bulgaria's cabinet chaired by resigned PM Boyko Borisov is expected to grant a concession for the Plovdiv railway station to a company owned by a sponsor of the ruling GERB party.

In one of the cabinet's last sittings Wednesday, the cabinet is expected to grant the right to use of the railway station in Bulgaria's second-largest city to the DZZD Plovdiv Railway Station company, owned by Mirolyub Stolarski, writes OffNews.bg.

Stolarski has already been involved in a GERB-related scandal, when the municipality of Bulgarian capital Sofia had to cancel the contract with another of his transport companies, Karat-S.

At that time, the GERB majority in the Sofia Town Council voted that Karat-S be paid an interest worth BGN 3.2 M, with a check by the opposition later revealing that the dues were BGN 0.6 M.

Due to the controversy, Sofia mayor Yordanka Fandakova fired two officers of the municipal public transportation company and issued last warnings to two of her vice-mayors.
