Bulgaria will most probably back the whole EU fiscal pact and not just some of the texts included in it, Bulgarian Finance Minister Simeon Djankov has revealed, as cited by the Bulgarian National Radio.

It is yet to be decided whether Bulgaria will maintain an observer status like other non-eurozone EU member states, Djankov clarified after attending the meeting of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council in Brussels.

Djankov added that negotiations of the future European fiscal pact are almost finalized and the final draft is to be presented to the Bulgarian Parliament on Thursday.

The final version of the International Agreement on an Enhanced Economic Union will be approved at the special EU Council to be held in Brussels on January 30, the Bulgarian Finance Minister said.

"Two thirds of EU Member States are of the opinion that debt should also be included in the Agreement but the issue remained open for discussion by the heads of state or government", Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister also explained according to the official website of Bulgaria's Finance Ministry.

According to Djankov, Bulgaria has made no commitments on tax harmonization within the Euro Plus Pact. He believes that the Euro Plus Pact will have less significance in EU's future financial development once the new agreement is approved.
