Bulgaria's Kardzhali Woman Becomes Latest Acid Attack Victim

The criminal police from the Regional Directorate in the southern city of Kardzhali are on the lookout for a perpetrator of an acid splashing attack.

The incident happened around 10 pm Friday when an unidentified man splashed a 20-year-old woman waiting for a bus at the city’s central bus station. The young victim has burns on her neck, shoulders and chest. She says a man walked by her and suddenly splashed her with liquid. She is firm she never met the man before and did not know him, but she also could not get a good look of him because of the dark.

The local emergency hospital reports the burns have not been severe and the woman has not been hospitalized. Police are investigating the case
