Bulgarian Acid Attack Victim among Most Popular Persons in Greece

A Bulgarian who became the victim of an acid attack in Athens is one of the personalities most commented upon in Greece.

Syndicate leader Kustadinka Kuneva who suffered severe wounds through an acid attack before her home in Athens is ranked fourth in a national survey of the most popular persons in Greece in 2009, BNR reported.

Kuneva is the Secretary of the Athens Union of janitors and maids. Exactly a year after the acid attack on her, on December 22, 2009, Kostadinka Kuneva was discharged from the hospital.

The Greek authorities have declared an award of EUR 1 M for information about the incident which still has not been solved.

Greece’s new Prime Minister George Papandreou is on the first spot in the ranking; he took over after winning the general elections amidst widespread hope of tackling the sever effect of the crisis on the Greek economy.
