A passenger train traveling from Ruse to Plovdiv derailed early this morning after striking rocks from a landslide along the railway line between Tryavna and Tsareva Livada. The incident occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m., with official data placing it at around 8:05. The landslide is believed to have been triggered by unfavorable weather conditions. Upon impact, the locomotive and the first carriage left the tracks, and rail traffic in the affected section was immediately suspended.

There were 65 passengers on board at the time. Three people were injured, but their condition is not serious, with reports indicating only minor injuries and abrasions. Emergency response teams from the National Railway Infrastructure Company were dispatched to the site to assess the situation and begin recovery operations.

To assist those on board, a diesel locomotive was sent from Gorna Oryahovitsa to move the derailed train composition to Tsareva Livada station. From there, passengers are being transferred by bus to Dabovo, where they can continue their journey. Additional bus transport is also being arranged for passengers from other trains affected by the disruption in the area.

Rail traffic along the fourth railway line, particularly in the section between Gorna Oryahovitsa and Dabovo, is expected to experience delays and schedule disruptions as a result of the incident.

This marks the second derailment in less than 24 hours caused by rocks on the tracks. Just a day earlier, another passenger train derailed between Dabovo and Raduntsi in the Maglizh municipality after hitting a fallen rock. In that case, no passengers were injured.
