Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov said the interim government will continue to operate “with decency, responsibility and as a team,” despite what he described as coordinated political pressure and criticism from multiple directions. Speaking at the start of a regular cabinet meeting, he stressed that the ministers remain outside electoral competition, do not represent parties and are not involved in nominating candidates.
Gyurov linked recent public attacks on the government to several parallel developments, including ongoing investigations and arrests related to vote-buying. He also pointed to the presentation of a new set of anti-inflation measures aimed at curbing price growth at an early stage. According to him, these steps were met with resistance that appears to coincide with broader political tensions.
He further referenced what he described as controversial overlaps involving judicial figures, including a shared trip between the head of the prosecution service and a person widely associated with corruption in the judiciary. While acknowledging that such coincidences may be accidental, he suggested they form part of a wider context of pressure on the cabinet.
The prime minister confirmed that the government will proceed with planned economic and institutional actions. These include the activation of anti-inflation policies, ensuring that the Interior Ministry guarantees orderly elections, and efforts by the Justice Ministry to pursue disciplinary accountability for magistrates linked to networks of influence in the judicial system. He concluded that, regardless of the source of criticism, the caretaker government will continue its work in a consistent, transparent and lawful manner.
