Atmospheric pressure across the country remains below the typical levels for this time of year and is expected to stay that way.
Over the next 24 hours, conditions will be dominated by widespread cloud cover. During the night and through the morning hours on April 1, rainfall will occur in some areas, mainly affecting Southern Bulgaria and mountainous regions. At higher elevations, precipitation will fall as snow. Later in the day, a Mediterranean cyclone approaching from the southwest will lead to more persistent and widespread rainfall, particularly in the afternoon.
Winds will ease overnight and shift to an east-northeasterly direction, becoming moderate during the day. Minimum temperatures will range between 3°C and 8°C, with Sofia seeing around 4°C. Daytime highs are expected to reach between 10°C and 15°C, with temperatures in the capital close to 10°C.
In the mountains, the weather will remain overcast with precipitation in many areas, becoming more prolonged in the second half of the day. Snowfall is expected above approximately 1,300 meters. Winds will be strong from the east-southeast. Temperatures at 1,200 meters will reach around 5°C, while at 2,000 meters they will drop to about minus 1°C.
Along the Black Sea coast, skies will also be mostly cloudy. Before midday, clearer conditions are expected mainly along the northern coastline. Winds will blow moderately from the east-northeast. Maximum temperatures will be between 10°C and 11°C, while sea water temperatures will remain at 8°C to 9°C. Wave conditions will be slight, around 2 on the Beaufort scale.
In Sofia, the sun will rise at 7:09 a.m. and set at 7:52 p.m., providing around 12 hours of daylight. The moon will set at 6:39 a.m. and rise again at 7:29 p.m., with its phase approaching full, just one day before the full moon.
