Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is set to leave for Iran next week, Economy Minister Bozhidar Lukarski has said.

Lukarski has told Standart newspaper the visit has been scheduled for July 11-12.

Two agreements are to be signed in Tehran between Bulgaria and the Islamic Republic.

One is on cooperation of small and medium enterprises and the other deals with investment.

A MoU is also in preparation establishing a partnership of Bulgaria's National Company Industrial Zones with the Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization, according to Lukarski.

A draft MoU was already approved by Bulgaria's cabinet in June.

The news comes weeks after Bulgaria voiced its intention to hold talks in Iran on a prospective purchase of the equipment for abandoned Belene nuclear plant project.

A reactor and other devices were built by Atomstoyexport, a subsidiary of Rosatom. A artitration court ruled in June that Sofia is to pay more than half a billion euro over the demise of Belene NPP, but will receive in return the equipment already manufactured.
