Holiday weather conditions are expected to remain mixed across Bulgaria, with alternating periods of sunshine and rain showers, according to the forecast. While the overall pattern will not be fully stable, precipitation is expected to be generally weak and scattered, while temperatures gradually trend upward, especially during daytime hours.
During the night, cloudiness will remain significant, with brief rain possible in parts of the north and east. Light northerly airflow is expected in eastern areas, while parts of Thrace will experience northwesterly winds. Nighttime temperatures will mostly fall between 0 and 4°C.
The following day is expected to remain cool, with highs generally between 8 and 13-14°C, again higher in southwestern regions. Cloud cover will vary but will tend to decrease in the afternoon in some areas, although eastern Bulgaria will retain more persistent cloudiness. Localized short precipitation is expected mainly before and around midday, especially near the Balkan Mountains and in southern regions.
Looking ahead, cloudiness is forecast to increase again during the night on Friday, becoming widespread by morning. Winds will shift direction depending on the region, with southern airflow in eastern Bulgaria and western winds in the northwest. Rainfall is expected in western and southwestern parts of the country, while minimum temperatures will range from about 1 to 6-7°C.
On Saturday, cloudiness will remain dominant, with intermittent light rain in mountainous areas and parts of eastern Bulgaria. Temperatures will rise slightly compared to previous days, with daytime values generally between 11 and 17-18°C. Sunday, including Easter Day, is expected to bring variable cloud cover, with more pronounced cloudiness in southern and eastern areas where isolated brief showers may occur. Temperatures will range from 1-6/7°C in the morning to 13-19°C during the day.
Over the next several mornings, minimum temperatures will in some locations approach freezing, although widespread damage to already blooming early and mid-season fruit trees is not expected. Still, isolated risk cannot be ruled out in low-lying or inversion-prone areas of the Danube Plain during clear and calm periods.
On Monday, a weak to moderate easterly wind will develop. Cloud cover will remain present but will mostly consist of mid and high layers, allowing for extended sunny intervals and very limited precipitation. Morning temperatures will range from about 2-3°C to around 8°C, while daytime highs will rise slightly to roughly 14-19°C, reaching 21-22°C in parts of the southwest. Cooler conditions will persist in parts of Thrace and along the Black Sea coast.
In mountainous regions, the snow line on Friday will be around 800-1000 meters, rising over the weekend so that any precipitation will fall as snow only at higher elevations. Overall conditions are expected to be less favorable for mountain tourism.
Toward Tuesday and Wednesday, cloudiness is expected to increase again over the southwestern half of the country, with localized precipitation in some areas. Temperatures will continue to rise, with nighttime lows mostly between 4-5°C and 9-10°C, and daytime highs generally between 16°C and just above 20°C in some regions.
