The highest ranking Bulgarian female tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova climbed thirteen places in the latest WTA ranking released on Monday.

Currently, Pironkova occupies the 59th position with 1039 points. This progress comes after the Bulgarian reached the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Birmingham last week.

At the beginning of this month, Pironkova played her first Roland Garros quarterfinal and after that climbed with 31 spots in the ranking.

Meanwhile, the highest ranking Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov dropped two positions in the latest ATP ranking also released on Monday.

Currently, Dimitrov occupies the 39th position with 1150 points. His drop is not surprising having in mind that so far he is having a disappointing season.

Most recently, he was ousted from the first round of the Queen's Club championship, recording his sixth consecutive defeat in all tournaments and losing in the first round for a fifth time in a row.
