Tennis: Bulgaria’s Pironkova Proceeds to WTA Quarter Finals in Birmingham

Bulgaria’s Tsvetana Pironkova defeated Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu  6-3, 6-3 on Thursday and proceeded to the quarter finals of the WTA tournament in Birmingham.

ATP 72^nd seed Pironkova won the match against 26^th seed Begu in one hour and nine minutes and became the third player to reach the quarter finals in Birmingham.

The top Bulgarian female tennis player will meet in the quarter finals with the winner of the match between Britain’s Heather Watson and the Czech Republic’s Barbora Strycova.
