Dimitar Kisimov has written a new golden chapter in Bulgarian tennis history at the Grand Slam tournaments.
The 17-year-old Bulgarian captured the junior doubles title at the Australian Open alongside Connor Doig of South Africa. In the final, the pair defeated the Australian duo of Imerali Ibraimi and Cooper Coase in straight sets, 6–3, 6–4.
Kisimov and Doig secured a crucial break in the opening set, while in the second they showed resilience by recovering from a 2–4 deficit and winning four consecutive games to seal the victory.
The triumph marks Bulgaria’s first junior doubles Grand Slam title since 2018, when Adrian Andreev won the US Open junior doubles crown.
