UN Committee to Review Children’s Rights in Bulgaria on 30 May

The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child will review children’s rights in Bulgaria later this month as part of monitoring of compliance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The UN committee, which is composed of 18 international independent experts, will meet in Geneva from 17 May to 3 June to review children’s rights in Samoa, Nepal, the UK, Slovakia, Pakistan, Gabon, Bulgaria, and Luxembourg, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights announced on its website.
The Committee monitors how states which have ratified the Convention are complying with its requirements. The document has been ratified to date by 196 states.
The Committee will release its findings on 9 June.
