Bulgaria’s Vladimir Iliev Grabs Bronze at European Biathlon Championship

Bulgarian biathlete Vladimir Iliev won bronze medal at the men’s 15-kilometre mass start of the European biathlon championship held in Tyumen, Russia on Sunday.

Iliev made two penalties in the shooting, one each in the second and third rounds and finished in 38:29.0 minutes.

The Bulgarian finished 8.5 seconds behind the winner from Germany Florian Graf.

This is the second bronze medal for Iliev at an European championships after the one won at the 20-kilometre individual race in Otepaa, Estonia last year.

The other Bulgarians – Krasimir Anev and Michail Kletcherov finished respectively eleventh and 16th in the mass start.

The mass start marked the end of the championship, with Bulgaria winning only one bronze medal.
