Ellis Shuman is taking us to Gela, a Bulgarian village believed to be the birthplace of Orpheus - the mythical Greek musician, poet, and prophet – who descended into the underworld in an attempt to save his wife, Eurydice.

In a blog post “Following the Footsteps of Orpheus”, the Israeli author, book reviewer, and travel writer is telling us about the culture of Bulgaria’s southern Rhodopes Mountains where Gela  is located, the region’s unique geological formations and the hospitality of locals.

You can read Shuman’s blog post here.
