Bulgarian Named Most Valuable Player of Greek Basket League

Bulgarian basketball player Aleksandar Vezenkov was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Greek Basket League for the past season.

Vezenkov, who spent the past four years at Aris Thessaloniki, is expected to soon sign a contract with Barcelona.

The Bulgarian convincingly won the voting of supporters, journalists, captains and coaches of the competing teams, daily Dnevnik reports.

A total 2275 out of the 5700 supporters, who participated in the online vote, cast their ballot in favour of Vezenkov and the Bulgarian also garnered most votes among the captains and coaches.

Vezenkov made a remarkable performance in the past season, scoring 469 points, which is the best achievement for the last seven seasons in the Greek Basket League.

The Bulgarian became the first player of Aris to be named MVP of the Greek Basket League since 2004.

Vezenkov scored 24.86 % of the points for his team during the season, becoming the team's leader and helping Aris to reach the semifinals in the play-offs.
