Bulgaria is set on cutting the time needed to issue work permits to highly qualified foreigners and to extending their terms of validity.

The statement was made by Bulgarian Minister on EU policies Meglena Kuneva at the outsourcing conference dedicated to discussions of how Bulgaria can achieve its maximum potential in the field and how it retain its leadership position.

She quoted data that demonstrate that the outsourcing sector has generated close to 3% of the GDP in 2014. Kuneva noted that there is a potenial for the number to double in the next several years. Reportedly, over the course of a year, the number of employed in the sector has increased by a quarter.
