The identity of the five-year old boy found murdered and left in suitcase near Bulgaria's Pasarel has been revealed.

His name was Nikita Leontev and was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, but was living in the city of Perm. Investigators have established that the name of the boy's mother is Ana Leonteva, as announced by the Bulgarian National Radio.

There is no proof that she was the mysteriously murdered woman near to Bulgaria's seaside resort Primorsko. The two cases have largely been connected in public discussions.

His father was a Russian citizen and Bulgarian Border Police officers have found no traces of him entering the country.

Sources close to the Bulgarian Interior Ministry have revealed that there are no official suspects on the murder case and local police is working on several versions.

According to unconfirmed information, a Russian citizen is currently being investigated who has had financial relations with Ana Leonteva. There are, however, no proofs that this person could be responsible for the crime.

The Ministry of the Interior has refused to give more information on the case as the investigation is ongoing. It is a joint operation with Interpol and other foreign investigative organizations.
