A landslide consisting of approximately 80 cubic meters of earth mass has been activated over the past night at the verge of the Smolyan neighborhood Ustovo.

The massive rocks on the road between Smolyan and Pamporovo have been blocking road traffic since Sunday.

There have been no people injured. Emergency teams continue cleaning the road. Transportation is executed in only a part of the road, as announced by the Municipal Road Directorate.

The main road connectiong Asenovgrad and Smolyan remains closed. Tons of rocks still need to be romoved from the road. Most of the landslide is located on the way to Iugovskoto hanche. Cars are being redirected to the road Devin-Krichim.

The only municipality in the Smolyan region remaining in state of emergency is Banite on account of problems with the electricity infrastructure and access to remote mountain villages and expasion of the roads.

It is expected that the state of emergency will be officially cancelled later on during the day.
