The 13 year old pianist from Ruse, Nikolay Dimitrov had the unique opportunity to play Elton John's Red Grand Piano at London's Royal Albert Hall.

The talented Bulgarian played Frederic Chopin's legendary Fantasie-Impromptu at the gala of the Grand Prize Virtuoso contest in the UK capital.

Dimitrov was the youngest competitor in the age range 13-15 year olds but nonetheless managed to score highest and won the first prize in the prestigious contest. He was praised by the jury as one of the new piano talents with outstanding potential.

A day earlier, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London organized the first solo concert of Nikolay Dimitrov. The event gathered close to 150 fans of jazz and classical music, most of whom were students. On account of the large interest, all three halls of the Bulgarian Embassy had to be used during the concert.

The 13 year old talent started his concert with classical performances of concerts by Bach, Chopin, Shumann and Pancho Vladigerov, and then heated up the audience with more contemporary tunes, including the jazz classic ''Fly Me to The Moon''.

''The huge talent, incredible sense of humor and intellect of this young man are truly impressive,'' said Jessie Harrington, producer at a London talent agency.
