A Metro-North Railroad commuter train crashed into a car during rush hour in New York's Westchester County on Tuesday evening, killing at least seven people.
The collision left a dozen people injured and forced the evacuation of hundreds, the New York Times reports.
The train hit a sport utility vehicle (SUV) at a crossing in Valhalla, killing the driver of the vehicle and six people on the train.
This it the deadliest crash in the history of Metro-North Railroad, which has been under intense scrutiny due to a series of incidents, which killed six people in less than a year.
Prior to Tuesday's incident, the bloodiest accident suffered by the company was a derailment in 2013, which left four people dead.
