Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is to meet his British counterpart David Cameron during the upcoming summit of the European Council that takes place on Thursday and Friday in Brussels.

This was announced by the press service of the Bulgarian Council of Ministers, but no further details were provided as to the nature of their meeting.

Two main topics will be discussed at the regular meeting of the heads of state or government of the 28 EU member states – the EUR 315 billion investment plan announced by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the relationship with the countries of the Eastern Partnership.

Apart from Junker's plan, other issues that feature on the agenda include the improvement of the investment climate, aggressive tax planning, the economic and monetary union, EurActiv reports.

International issues such as the crisis in Ukraine, European Jihadists and the Ebola outbreak are to be discussed during the dinner.

For the first time the summit will be chaired by the incumbent President of the European Council Donald Tusk, who took office on December 1.

Tusk will try to introduce a change to the way European Councils are held – with fewer topics on the agenda and shorter conclusions.

It is expected that the governors of the European Investment Bank and the European Central Bank are also to attend the summit.
