Three train cars derailed and 11 people were injured after a Swiss passenger train ran into a landslide in the Alps, Wednesday.

Five people were seriously injured and another six suffered slight injuries, the local police office said. They included eight Swiss, two Japanese citizens and one Australian.

The accident happened between Tiefencastel and Solis, southeast of Zurich. The train operated by Rhaetische Bahn was carrying around 200 people on board. All of them were safely evacuated to the nearby village four hours after the landslide, according to international media reports.

The accident comes two days after three people died in a minibus-train collision in Switzerland, the BBC informs.
