Sofia City Court has once again put off the trial against former Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov, as a juryman was not present.

Wednesday's court session was to address a BGN 50 569 (around EUR 25 285 EUR) embezzlement claim and to include hearings of high-profile witnesses.

It is now adjourned until May 22, as Bulgaria's Praven Sviat (Legal World) reports.

Embezzlement is one of various charges Tsvetanov is facing, as according argue that he committed also blocked permits to use special surveillance devices against Orlin Todorov former head of the Interior Ministry's Chief Directorate Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) in Veliko Tarnovo and allowed unauthorized wiretapping.

A hearing on the first charges was postponed on April 1, after Tsvetanov's lawyer Menko Menkov failed to appear in court due to hypertension.
