Gas Leak Shuts Down District of Bulgarian Capital

The area around the Zemlyane public transportation garage in the Sofia Zhitnitsa Blvd has been closed down by authorities due to a gas leak.

A leak of propane-butane gas from a cistern truck has been observed in the area, reported the police.

Firefighters are on ground and have taken up measures to stop the leakage and prevent a fire.

Electric power supply in the area, located near the western Sofia districts of Krasno Selo and Ovcha Kupel, has been cut off due to safety measures.

There are currently no hazards for local residents and the environment, informed the police.
