Bulgarian independent MEP Slavi Binev pledged Tuesday to make shocking and scandalous revelations of large-scale, blatant embezzlement, committed by senior officials and State servants between 2008 and now.

He spoke in the northeastern city of Dobrich at a briefing for the launch of the election campaign of the Gorda Bulgaria (Proud Bulgaria) Coalition between the GORD party, recently founded by the MEP, and the Free People Party, allegedly founded by persons close to Aleksei Petrov.

Binev pledged to submit all the information he had with the Supreme Prosecutor's Office upon returning to Sofia on Wednesday.

"Organized crime has invaded the highest echelons of power and we will submit proof tomorrow that BGN 1 B has been embezzled from the electric power production in the country at the end of the term of the Three-Way Coalition, led by Socialist Prime Minister, Sergey Stanishev, and during the entire term of the GERB Cabinet of PM, Boyko Borisov. Bulgaria and Bulgarian taxpayers have been deprived precisely in the sector that stirred the biggest tensions in the country, and the authorities, everyone, filed to probe even publically available data. They made a mockery of the rule of law," said the MEP.

He stated his Coalition was on a quest to liberate Bulgaria from its own fears, prejudices, and the problems created by the incompetent people voters have elected.

Binev directly accused Borisov and his Deputy, former Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, of robbing the country, stressing the possible failure of the Prosecutor's Office to react on the tipoff he was going to submit would mean a "civil war on EU territory."
