Israel Offers Stipend to Child of Bulgarian Driver Killed in Burgas Bombing

Israel is offering a stipend to the daughter of Mustafa Kyosev, the Bulgarian bus driver killed in the terror act in Burgas.

Salihe, 11, will receive assistance until she reaches majority, bTV informed Friday.

The bus bombing at the Burgas Sarafovo airport on July 18, 2012 killed a total of seven, including 5 Israeli tourists, their Bulgarian bus driver, and the perpetrator of the attack.

bTV aired a report where people close to the family of the late driver say his wife has not left the house ever since the attack and is suffering posttraumatic stress.

The girl is also under stress and suffering and is desperately seeking support in her only living parent.

"Both mother and daughter are not coping very well," says the Mayor of the village of Yurukovo, Emine Elanska.

Mendi Safadi, Chief of Staff for the Israeli Deputy Minister for the Development of the Negev and the Galillee, is quoted saying the girl will receive USD 150 a month until she turns 18.

Israel has also given money for the daycare Kyosev attended as a child and promises further assistance in purchasing what the facility needs. A plaque with his name has already been mounted at the entrance door of the daycare.
