The 20-year-old woman, a Turkish citizen, who died after falling from a building in the Studentski Grad quarter in the Bulgarian capital Sofia, has committed suicide.

This is the most likely conclusion of the probe, according to the TV channel bTV.

The cause of death is still under investigation.

The incident occurred Wednesday evening in building 8 in Studentski Grad ("College Town"), the quarter that hosts the dormitories of all universities in Sofia.

The girl fell from the 10th floor. According to reports, she has been chatting with an ex-boyfriend on Facebook in the presence of her current one.

The students living in the dorm, who come mostly from Russia, Turkey, Greece, and Spain, told the police they did not hear any screaming or other noise from the room of the Turkish girl.

Some have said later that they heard screams and a laud argument between the two, right before the incident.

The boyfriend, who is also Turkish, told the police he was angry over the chat and wanted to leave the room when he saw his girlfriend climbing up the window before falling from it.

Despite earlier reports of his arrest, the latest information is that he had only been questioned and then released.

The expert medical reports are still pending, but the early probe has not revealed any signs of violence on the girl's body.

The young woman was from Izmir and has lived in the dorm for 8 months before the tragic incident.

She was enrolled at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and studied pharmacy. Her family arrived from the southern Bulgarian city of Kardzhali in Sofia Wednesday night without being aware of any details on the incident, BGNES reported.

Sofia's College Town is infamous for and frequently makes the news over binge drinking, fights, fatal incidents and prostitution rings.

24-year-old Boris Kiryakov recently passed away after being severely beaten in front of a night club. The incident happened early on June 29. Kiryakov was transferred to Sofia's Pirogov hospital in critical condition and could not recover. He died on July 5th.

At the end of February, Mario Danchev, 19, a student from the Economy University in Sofia, was stabbed and killed in the dormitory where he lived.

20-year-old pharmacy student Stoyan Baltov died on December 5, 2008 after sustaining severe head trauma and skull fracture from a beating in front of the "Amnesia" disco club in the district.
