Bulgaria and the United Kindgom have vowed to pursue further cooperation in the field of security, stated Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, who is on an official visit to the UK.

"As part of this joint work, we will see British experts helping in developing legislation regulating the work of Bulgarian security forces," said Plevneliev at a press conference Saturday after meeting UK Foreign Secretary William Hague.

The Bulgarian President said that the above legislation is to be drafted by the end of 2012 and he expressed hopes it will be passed in Parliament around April 2013.

He further expressed his gratitude to Britain for its services' help in investigating the terrorist attack against Israeli citizens in Bulgaria's resort city of Burgas on July 18.

"Another important topic discussed with Secretary Hague were the opportunities for furthering economic cooperation between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom," said Plevneliev.

In particular he said he has hopes that Bulgaria can attract UK investments for promising infrastructure projects.
