The Bulgarian men's volleyball team suffered its first defeat at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, after losing from Argentina Saturday evening with 1:3 sets.

After 3 consecutive victories and 9 points in pool A of the tournament, Bulgaria was the only undefeated team in London, but the adversary was successful in gaining ground with 25:18, 21:25, 25:19, 25:20.

The Bulgarian athletes managed to prevail only during the second set. Tsvetan Sokolov had the best performance, contributing 25 points, followed by Todor Alexiev with 15.

The loss is not decisive for the Bulgarian team since they already qualified for advancing to the quarterfinals, however, a win would have been usefull in order to have a better draw.

The Bulgarians have one game left in pool A, against Italy on August 6.

Bulgaria and Poland are first in the pool with 49 points each. Italy is third, followed by Argentina, Australia and Great Britain.
