Rangelova Sets New Bulgarian Record in 100m Freestyle Heats

Bulgarian swimmer Nina Rangelova set a new national record at 100m freestyle event at the London 2012 Olympics but could not make it into the semi-finals at the London 2012 Olympics.
Rangelova finished second in Wednesday's heat 4, swimming the distance in 55.2.
The Plovdiv-born swimmer, who is training and studying in the US, topped her personal best and Bulgaria's national record by 2-hundredths of a second.
Rangelova was just 17-hundredths of a second slower than Turkey's Burcu Dolunay.
Despite the new national record, Rangelova ranked 24th and could not make it into the semi-finals.
Taking into account Wednesday's achievement, Rangelova ended her performance at the London 2012 Olympics with three new personal bests and national records in the 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 400m freestyle.
