Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov has condemned the deadly blast that killed at least six Israeli tourists at an airport near the Black Sea city of Burgas, declaring that the country's authorities will find out what caused it.

"We express our deepest condolences to the families of the dead and our sympathy for the wounded,  Mladenov said  in a statement.

"Bulgaria will do everything in its power to clarify the causes of this terrible incident," he added.

According to preliminary data, six people died and more than 30 were injured in an explosion on a tourist bus at Sarafovo Airport, the Foreign Ministry says in its statment.

Five people died at the scene and one died later in hospital. Thirty-two people were admitted to hospital, of which three are in intensive care.

Media reports suggest the death toll may have reached seven.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the attack was probably initiated by a group under the auspices of "either Iran or other radical Muslim groups," and named Hezbollah and Hamas as likely suspects.
