As part of a long-standing tradition, the Club Francophonie in the northwestern city of Vratsa marked Saturday France's National Holiday.

On the day commemorating the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, citizens of Vratsa gathered near the central square in downtown Vratsa to pay tribute to French culture and cuisine.

The 2012 festivities, which started at 10 a.m. in the morning, allowed French-speaking and French-admiring citizens to taste typical French dishes and listen to a selection of French chansons.
