Most of Bulgaria under Code Yellow over Gusty Winds, Rain

Code yellow has been declared for 20 Bulgarian regions Friday over the forecast for gusty winds and rain.

The forecast has been issued by the Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, BAS.

Code yellow means potentially dangerous weather, where the forecast is not for unusual meteorological events, but requires people to exercise caution.

It is effective for the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Targovishte, Razgrad, Silistra, Shumen, Dobrich, Varna, Burgas, Yambol, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Plovdiv and Haskovo.

The forecast is for strong winds and short, but torrential rains at some places, accompanied by lightning. The mercury will climb only to 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.
