Berbatov First Bulgarian to Have 1 Million Fans on Facebook

Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has become the first Bulgarian ever to have more than one million fans on Facebook.

Berbatov's Facebook page facebook.com/berbatov.bg got its 1 000 000th "like" on Friday, December 16, 2011, sealing his position as the most popular Bulgarian on the largest global social network.

"The two-times English champion with Manchester United is one of the most famous footballers in the world and now has over a million people to confirm it. No other Bulgarian star, politician, showman or popular figure of any kind has the honor to have over a million 'friends' on the social network website," Berbatov's personal website points out regarding the latest expansion of his Facebook fan base.

It also reminds that Dimitar Berbatov is a record seven times winner of the "Bulgarian Footballer of the Year" title, and won the Bulgarian Man of the Year title in 2009.

He has also won six trophies in three years with Manchester United, and grabbed the Golden boot in the English Premier League last season. He is the current all-time leading goalscorer for the Bulgarian national football team.
