Ex-Football Star Dimitar Berbatov Will Run for Boss of Bulgarian Football Federation

Dimitar Berbatov has officially announced that he will run for president of the Bulgarian Football Union.

 In a press conference he presented his team which will include also ex-players Stilian Petrov and Martin Petrov who played for Celtic and Man. city respectively.

"I am opening my campaign for president of the Bulgarian Football Union. I think the time has come and we are starting today, and we have been working actively for a long time.

“My team is made up of some people you know and some you don’t know so well. We have decided to have a symbiosis between football people and people who have been in business management for a long time and know purely administratively how things happen. I keep in touch with Stilian Petrov. He will be part of the future Executive Committee. The other person is Martin Petrov - I am glad that these people are in my life and we continue to maintain relations and our ideas are similar. We have the desires and intentions to change things as they are, because there is a need.”

He was adamant that the strength that unites his team is that things need to get better in Bulgarian football.

“These people know they have my ‘Thank you.’ They provide opinions and ideas that are discussed and debated. Every good idea is welcome with us. We don't know everything, so we learn and grow. That is why people who are looking for change do not have the stage to say what they want, they are welcome with us. "Football is for all of us, not for me," he added.
