Bulgaria, Algeria Ink Economic Cooperation Agreement

An economic cooperation agreement was signed on Thursday by Bulgaria's Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov and Algeria's Minister of Water Resources Abdelmalek Sellal.

Bulgaria and Algeria are to create a joint intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, the agreement foresees. The two states will cooperate in the fields of industry, agriculture, energy, science, transport, construction and education, among others, the Bulgarian BGNES news agency informs.

At the end of the 19th session of the Joint Bulgarian-Algerian Commission for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, the two Ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding in the filed of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Algeria is a traditional partner of Bulgaria, Minister Traikov stated, expressing his hope that an even better trade turnover between the two countries will be registered during their next joint economic commission session.

The 19th session of the Joint Bulgarian-Algerian Commission for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation kicked off on Tuesday, as Bulgaria expressed its will to make a comeback on the North African country's market.
