Bulgarian Student Team Ranked 2nd at Prestigious Math Contest

A group of Bulgarian students has been ranked second at a prestigious international math contest for students age fourteen and younger.

The 15th Primary Mathematics World Contest has the statute of an Olympiad and was held in Hong Kong, the Bulgarian daily 24 Chassa (24 Hours) reports Monday.

The Chinese team ranked first.

Bulgaria was represented by 4 students from the Mathematics High School in the Black Sea city of Burgas – Victor Stanchev, Maria Delyakova, Atanas Yankov, and Kostadin Garov, led by their math teacher, Ganka Vateva.

They have also won 4 silver medals in the individual contest.

The team has returned to Bulgaria late Sunday evening on a plane from Moscow.
