Bulgarian Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov is staying on reserve because of brilliant performance by Javier Hernandes, as revealed by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"That is very unpleasant for Dimitar, for he is a fantastic athlete. But Hernandez's recent rise has been stunning. There is no way I can leave him out of the game," said Sir Alex, adding that he believes Hernandez's playing will palpably boost the team's performance.

Berbatov is currently the Premiership's top scorer with 21 goals, but recently he has been forced to stay on reserve and has not played many games.

"Every manager and player has to face this situation when someone comes up and competes for your place. This is one of the terrible sides of football life," mused Ferguson.
