Bulgarian Parliament Chair Tsetska Tsacheva welcomed the 11 Bulgarian women physicists working at the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN on the occasion of March 8, the international women's day.

Tsacheva praised the contribution of the Bulgarian women scientists to the work of CERN and the Large Hadron Collider.

Later she, together with the CERN scientists and Italian Ambassador to Bulgaria Stefano Benazzo opened an exhibit at Sofia University dedicated to the women physicists working at CERN.

"Let us be a nation that benefits and is not affected positively by the brain drain. Poverty can be overcome through innovative technologies and their incorporation in business. Young people must be attracted by science," Tsacheva stated at the exhibit opening urging young Bulgarian scientists to gain experience abroad and to come back.

The exhibit at Sofia University is designed to underscore the achievements of the female physicists working at CERN and the science and education cooperation between Bulgaria and Italy.

"Every day must be March 8," Italian Ambassador Stefano Benazzo stated at the opening urging appreciation of the work of women.
