The E3+3 nations (the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain - and Germany) have accepted Iran's conditions about continuing the talks on its nuclear program.

This was stated by Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili on Tuesday. The two-day talks were held in Geneva, Switzerland.

"Both sides have agreed that the talks will be about cooperation on common ground," Jalili declared on Tuesday after the end of the two-day talks with the representatives of E3+3

"We recognize Iran's rights but insist it fulfils its obligations. We are ready to address and seek common ground also on other issues of mutual interest" EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and mediator of the talks, Catherine Ashton, stated

This is the first round of negotiations between E3+3 and Iran after a 14-month hiatus. The two sides have agreed to hold the next round of talks in Istanbul in late January.

The international community, including notably the EU and the US, have criticised Iran's nuclear program saying it is meant to make nuclear weapons. Tehran, on the other hand, has consistently stated that its nuclear program is solely intended for the production of nuclear fuel for civilian use
