Veteran Swedish pop duo Roxette will stage a concert in Sofia on May 29 next year as part of their first world tour since 1995 ahead of a new album release.

The long-awaited performance will take place at the National Palace of Culture, Hall 1, the organizers from Sofia Music Enterprises announced.

Ticket prices have been tagged from BGN 60 to BGN 150.

The tour kicks off on March 1st in Kazan, Russia and will pass through at least four continents. So far 33 dates in 22 countries in Europe, North and South America and the Middle East until the end of July have been confirmed so far and more are expected to follow.

"This is what I have longed and hoped for the whole time since 2002. I am understandably extremely happy to have the opportunity to greet audiences around the world again," singer Marie Fredriksson said in a statement.

Fredriksson was diagnosed with a brain tumour in September 2002, which was later removed in surgery. The tumour was malignant and she endured months of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, receiving some permanent damage to her brain, losing the ability to read and count, the vision in her right eye, and some loss of movement in her right side.

"If you had asked me several years ago if there would ever be a new Roxette tour, I would have immediately answered NO! Given what Marie has gone through, it is not only inconceivable, it is almost magical in my eyes. It will be wonderful to be able to meet all our fans on Planet Earth once more," added Gessle.

This will be Roxette biggest tour since 1995 and their first world tour since 2002.
