Bulgarian Cabinet Proposes New Diplomats

The Bulgarian government has proposed a number of new appointments of ambassadors abroad to President Georgi Parvanov, who has the authority to appoint Bulgaria's representatives abroad.

Among them, Krassimir Tulechki is proposed as Bulgaria's ambassador to Turkey, currently Bulgaria's representative in Kosovo. Bobi Boev is proposed to replace Tulechki in Pristina.

Current Bulgarian deputy foreign minister Marin Raykov is suggested for ambassador to France. He has already occupied that position in the past.

The cabinet also calls that the President discharge from duties Bulgaria's ambassador to Lebano Venelin Lazarov, as well as the ambassador to Slovakia, Ognyan Garkov.

The foreign ministry that within 2010 the terms in office of 30 Bulgarian ambassadors are going to expire. The ministry is considering shutting down some missions and placing acting ambassadors in order to cut down on spending.
