Bulgaria coach Stanimir Stoilov has called on local football authorities to bring back Manchester United and Bulgaria striker Dimitar Berbatov, who recently announced his international retirement.

"It's unforgivable for Bulgaria to have a player, competing for Manchester United but not playing for the national team," Stoilov told Bulgarian web site www.sportal.bg.

"Therefore the management of the Bulgarian Football Union should talk to him (Berbatov). The best option is for BFU president Borislav Mihaylov to do it."

Dimitar Berbatov announced at the beginning of May his retirement from international football with immediate effect. The 29-year-old was captain of his country and scored a national record 48 goals in just 74 matches.

Berbatov has repeatedly said that the decision about leaving Bulgaria's national football team was not a decision he took lightly. He has hinted that he has plans for top management post once he returns to his home country.
