Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, had not met with the Qatar Head of State despite the fact that the talks between the two have been included in the trip's agenda.

Borisov, who was on an official visit to Doha Monday and Tuesday, along with several Bulgarian Ministers and Members of the Parliament, commented the level of the Qatar meetings had been PM with PM while during the upcoming Kuwait trip Wednesday he would meet with all three - the Kuwaiti Emir, Prince and PM.

Borisov showed reporters the folders with the numerous agreements signed with Qatar during his trip to demonstrate how effective his visit has been.

The PM's statements came on the heels of media reports in Bulgaria that the Emir of Qatar had refused to meet with Borisov over the impeachment procedure of Bulgarian President, Georgi Parvanov, the ruling Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party is initiating.

Borisov pointed out he wants to see all results from Parvanov's own visit to Qatar along with finding out who was the author of the above said reports.

“It is a fact that I had with me the official address of the President and personally gave it to the Emir. I think this was the most dignified and diplomatic way to deal with the situation,” the PM informed, adding he had met the Emir during his visit to Sofia at the time Borisov was the Mayor of the Bulgarian capital.
