An organized criminal group involved in an international scheme for draining credit and debit cards has been busted by the Bulgarian Unit for Fighting Organized Crime – ‘GDBOP’.

GDBOP arrested 3 in a special operation Friday and confiscated fake bank cards and computer programs for the configuration of bank cards.

The police operation started when a package arrived at Sofia Airport from Pakistan with 12 fake bank cards with the names of Bulgarian citizens on. A 65-year-old man was arrested at the scene when he collected the package.

Later a 24-year-old and 17-year-old were traced and arrested, with raids on their homes recovering a wealth of detailed computer programs as well as material needed to counterfeit the cards.
