Rooney: Thumbs Up for Bulgaria's Berbatov

Wayne Rooney has praised his partnership with Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov, saying he creates opportunities and gives a great deal of freedom to get forward.

The England forward answered questions by fans on the site goal.com.

Asked whether he thinks Berbatov gets too much stick from fans and pundits for not scoring a lot, Rooney said strikers always go through a bad patch and get criticized by people who do not see how much effort they are putting in day in and day out.

“Berbatov’s a very technically sound player. He can score, create opportunities for the guys and gives me a great deal of freedom to get forward. He does his fair share and our partnership is very fresh and it’ll get better,“ Rooney added.

He described John Terry as the toughest defender he has ever played against.

"He’s a very physical player and always gives everything for England. You can concentrate on your game and not worry about the defence conceding because he always plays well."
