The hospital in the Black Sea city of Burgas confirmed Thursday an earlier announcement that they have a case of a pregnant woman infected by the swine flu virus.

The hospital management informs the woman is in serious condition and has been put on a pulmonary support, adding the hospital is providing the most modern therapy available and the patient is constantly monitored by a team of obstetricians.

The doctors, however, say they are still awaiting the results of the A(H1N1) test from Sofia.

Magdalena Boteva, 36, who is six-months pregnant, has been listed in the hospital on October 22, with serious respiratory problems and has been later moved to the life-support ward. Doctors say the embryo is in normal condition.

The hospital staff is monitoring closely all other patients for signs of the A(H1N1) virus
